Hawkwood is ideally located for participants travelling from throughout England and Wales, by rail or car, or internationally by plane.
If coming by car: From the West and North, take Exit 13 off the M5 and follow the A419 and signs to Stroud town centre (5 miles). From the East, take Exit 15 off the M4 and follow the A419 past Cirencester to Stroud. If coming from the Oxford area, follow the A429 or B4425 off the A40 to Cirencester. Follow the A419 from Cirencester as above.
From Stroud town centre pick up and follow signs to Painswick out on the A46. You go under the railway viaduct past the Apollo Cinema, turning left at the following roundabout, and straight over the one after that. Directly after that roundabout turn right on to Painswick Old Road and then take the first right on ‘Wick Street’. Hawkwood is about a mile on the right.

If coming by train, take a taxi from the Stroud train station (max.2 miles). For hiking enthusiasts, it takes approximately half an hour by foot! There is a direct train from London Paddington to Stroud (approximately 90 minutes). And connecting trains from Swindon, Reading, Cheltenham and Gloucester to reach Stroud from other areas.!
The closest airport is Bristol International Airport, here take the Bristol Flyer Airport Express bus (www.flyer.bristolairport.co.uk/) to Bristol Temple Meads, change and get a train to Gloucester (45mins) and then a train to Stroud (15mins). From Birmingham International Airport take the train to Birmingham New Street (15mins) change and get the train to Cheltenham Spa (45mins) and then a train to Stroud (15mins). From London Heathrow Airport, take the RailAir coach (www.railair.com/) to Reading railway station (45 minute journey with a coach every 20 minutes) and then the train to Stroud (65 minutes). From London Gatwick Airport, take the Gatwick Express train (www.gatwickexpress.com/) to London Victoria (30 minute journey with a train every 15 minutes), and then the Underground Circle Line west to Paddington (around 25 minutes) for the train to Stroud (90 minutes).
