Haiku for mindfulness - Matti Spence Tue 25 Jul

  • Arts

As a group, we will enter into the world of the Haiku, an ancient poetic form which allows users to focus on and record, simple, yet profound observations. Considering the Haiku not just as an art-form, but as a tool for awakening a deeper sense of awareness, Matti will share his insights into the power of writing short, observational poems as a daily practice, as a way of cultivating the acceptance, mindfulness and simplicity spoken of often by Zen and Taoist teachers.
The workshop will consist of both indoor and outdoor activities, with a focus on listening in nature and participants will have the opportunity to write and share poems of their own throughout.
