Mindful Drawing is an exploration of drawing as meditation and is suitable for all levels. Inspired by the work of Frederick Franck, author of The Zen of Seeing, the emphasis is on process rather than outcome. This fascinating method stimulates us to observe the beauty of everyday life and capture its essence in simple drawings.
There is no specific timetable but we will become steadily more familiar with practising mindfulness; exploring how our attention affects our experience in the context of seeing and drawing. We will also do some more traditional meditation practices. By the end of the weekend you will feel comfortable with this approach and be able to practice on your own.

Anna Black has been teaching stress reduction through mindfulness since 2006 and is the author of Living in the Moment (Cico Books, 2012) Mindfulness @ Work (Cico Books, 2014) The Pocket Book of Mindfulness (Cico Books, 2015), A Year of Living Mindfully (Cico Books, 2015) and Mindfulness on the Go (Cico Books, 2017). She is the UK’s only certified and licensed Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain teacher. In her Mindful Drawing workshops she brings these two strands together.
Arrival and registration 4.00-6.00pm, with tea. Course begins with supper at 6.30pm followed by an introductory session for everyone including non-residents
