In Monteverdi's 450th anniversary year, join celebrated choral conductor Gavin Carr for a weekend exploring his magnum opus, the Vespers of 1610. Written for St Mark's, Venice, this is choral writing on the grandest scale, filled with zest and a magnificent inspiration. Gavin will introduce you to the Vespers in his trade-marked highly engaging and expert way, bringing its Italianate warmth and vigour into the heart of the English summer at Hawkwood.
