Raku Pot Making - Allen Richards Fri 14 Jul - Sun 16 Jul

  • Arts

Raku is traditionally used in the Japanese Tea Ceremony. The rapid firing technique allows for experimentation with a variety of decoration techniques and glazing effects. Starting with pre-made bisque vessels, we will progress to making our own pots and trying various firing methods, including pit firing and kiln firing.  At the end of the course we will unpack the straw boxes and clean and reveal the finished pots to take home.
