Andrew Harvey will present his vision of Rumi, not only as the world’s greatest mystical poet but as an indispensable force of illumination, peace, passion, and radiant divine energy for our time. He will celebrate and explore the sacred mystical love affair between Rumi and his divine beloved Shams and the "new kind of love"- embodied divine love- that they discovered for humanity. He will relate this love to his vision of Sacred Activism. Andrew Harvey will offer transformative Sufi practices, a comprehensive overview of the Sufi vision and path to the Beloved, as well as a map of how to embody divine passion in the midst of our world crisis and in daily life.

“A spirituality that is only private and self-absorbed, one devoid of an authentic political and social consciousness, does little to halt the suicidal juggernaut of history. On the other hand, an activism that is not purified by profound spiritual and psychological self-awareness and rooted in divine truth, wisdom, and compassion will only perpetuate the problem it is trying to solve, however righteous its intentions. When, however, the deepest and most grounded spiritual vision is married to a practical and pragmatic drive to transform all existing political, economic, and social institutions, a holy force – the power of wisdom and love in action – is born. This force I define as Sacred Activism.”

Andrew Harvey is an internationally renowned mystical scholar, Rumi translator, spiritual teacher, poet, novelist and architect of Sacred Activism
Every age has its teachers, who keep the eternal truths alive for all of us. In the case of Andrew Harvey, the light he sheds is like a meteor bursting across the inner sky.” Marianne Williamson, author of The Age of Miracles
“I have been reading Andrew Harvey’s books and also Rumi’s poetry this past year. As I guess happens for many people, I have reached a point in my life that feels a little like waking up or returning to some more essential part of myself that has been hidden through conditioning, fear and the need to conform. I’m not in any way a scholar or expert on Rumi but feel drawn to learn more, and also very much to learn from Andrew. The chance to do that directly and in person seems to good to miss! I was thinking this morning how much this country needs people like him to spread some light in the darkness….so I looked at his website and saw this [retreat]”
