Saturday, 01 Sep 2012 - Saturday, 01 Sep 2012
Jim Divers |
Introduction to natural beekeeping methods.
Enter the hidden world of the bees with an experienced beekeeper who will explain the hierarchy and community that exists within a hive. We will observe the bees coming and going and look at a number of different hive types, considering the threats to them and how human activity has affected them. We’ll discuss the lifecycle of bees and cover a year in the beekeeping calendar. The course is designed as a guide for new or potential beekeepers and those more experienced beekeepers who wish to explore alternative methods of keeping bees in an empathetic way.
Each day may be taken separately.
