Celtic Knot Mandalas, Course no 176
Saturday, 28 Apr 2012 - Sunday, 29 Apr 2012
The visual rhythms and luminosity of Celtic knotwork are beautiful in themselves and are believed to be an aid to meditation. We start by learning the principles of knotwork construction. Students will learn to create a simple plaitwork panel design then apply their knowledge to more complex irregular shapes, including circles. The second day will involve practical exercises with art materials rendering knotwork in ways that make them appear in semi-relief and luminous. Suitable for beginners or people with some knowledge of Celtic patterns.
