The other Arthuriad
JRR Tolkien stated that the express of the purpose of his mythology in The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings and other writings was to offer an alternative British mythology to the tales of King Arthur. During the 1940's Dion Fortune and others developed the Arthuriad into a magical system, whilst Tolkien refined his mythology. Some 45 years later, in the footsteps of Dion Fortune, Gareth Knight began to explore the use of the Tolkien mythos as a magical system. During this weekend we will revisit these themes, supported by the practical methods of the Western Mystery Tradition, including meditation and ritual.
