The Mystic Brush, Course no 444
Friday, 02 Nov 2012 - Sunday, 04 Nov 2012
Why did the Chinese consider landscape painting to be the highest art form, which was capable of expressing the deepest levels of human thought and which could enable both artist and viewer to transcend the limitations of this earth? Alongside practicing exquisite painting techniques, we will explore the answers, looking not only at the historical development, but also by examining the major religious and philosophical influences, such as Taoism, Buddhism and Confucian ethics.
