Course date: Friday, 01 Feb 2013 - Sunday, 03 Feb 2013
Course times: 16:00 - 16:00
This weekend is run by Jane Francis and David Hatcher, two well-known and experienced players and tutors and includes the opportunity to play from facsimiles for those who would like to.
In order to provide effective tuition, places will be limited to a maximum of four consorts of up to six parts. There could also be an opportunity to study larger scale viol pieces, working one to a part. A good level of playing and sight reading is expected and pre-formed consorts are very welcome. Tutors reserve the right to accept all applications depending on other balanced consorts being able to be formed. Players with Renaissance viols are welcome to bring their instruments.
Early application is advised
Jane Francis (Baroque cello, viola da gamba) combines a busy cello teaching practice in Bristol with a professional life playing with the City of London Chamber Players, the Corelli Orchestra, the Welsh Baroque Orchestra, the Bristol Camerata, and the Company of Viols.
