Sound can have a profound effect on wellbeing. It can refresh a tired body and facilitate deep relaxation. It can influence our mood and affect the atmosphere of a room. It can spark the imagination and provide a wonderful vehicle for creativity.
Living Sound is an exploration into the nature of sound; what it is, how it affects us, and how we can use sound to bring harmony to our lives and communities. The course takes us from our sense of hearing and touch to playing simple instruments. It explores the resonant tones of singing bowls, shruti box, gong, drum and lyre, and the sounds of the natural world. The weekend includes simple movement and relaxation techniques that free body and mind, making us more receptive to the inner effects of sound.
Living Sound is open to all regardless of experience. It can also be used as part of the foundation course, Music Another Way.
