Rhythms of Life explores our natural expression of rhythm. The course takes us from the inner pulse to playing and improvising together as a group. Guest players Barry Mason and Lina Lotto introduce the basic universal drum strokes and show how difficult looking patterns can be broken down into simple building blocks. The weekend includes simple movement and relaxation techniques that free body and mind, helping us to play with greater sensitivity and awareness. Percussion instruments such as the Udu are provided and you are welcome to bring your own.
Rhythms of Life is for anyone who thinks they don't have rhythm, and anyone who wants to play with greater ease and confidence. It can also be used as part of the foundation course, Music Another Way.
