Meditation to Quieten the Mind

Introductory day for beginners

Meditation is an effective way of counteracting stress and increasing the sense of personal well being.

The course is designed for those who have not meditated before or who have only limited experience.  Sessions will include periods of seated practice using ordinary chairs. No special postures are required, but participants will experience and increased ability to relax and will come to an understanding of the basic concepts underlying practice. There will be ample time to discuss practice within a supportive environment.

Participants are invited to attend both days or to enrol only for Part 1 on Saturday.  The second day (Part 2 Sunday) is intended primarily for those attending Part 1, or who have completed an introductory one-day course previously at Hawkwood or elsewhere.
