Botanical and Wildlife Painting in Gouache , Course no 432
Friday, 29 Oct 2010 - Sunday, 31 Oct 2010

Learn how to observe details, mix colour and use application techniques with water-based gouache to achieve realistic effects in painting plants, flowers or animals. Carefully building up opaque layers from dark to light can give your picture a good strong quality, which is ideally suited to capture the different textures of animal skins. Gouache can also be used in a watercolour method of light to dark, keeping translucency which can work well for plants and flowers. We will work from pictures and from life. Feel free to bring your own items to study if you want.
