Terms and Conditions
To Make a Booking
To book a course, call 01453 759034, email email@example.com
or book on-line. A member of the team will contact you if you email or book online to take your deposit. To secure your place on the course and accommodation, early booking is recommended. Please note that your booking annot be confirmed without a deposit or fee payment. Whatever your method of booking, you will be sent a written confirmation, further details about the college and what you should bring, and a map with instructions on how to find us.
There is a minimum, non-refundable, deposit of £30 for 1 day courses, £100 for 2+ days. To ensure yourself a place on a course, we recommend that you don’t leave booking until the last minute! The balance of fees is due four weeks before a course starts. Fees are non-returnable if you cancel within this four week period.
We recommend you take out your own holiday insurance in case you have to cancel through illness or unforeseen circumstances, or in case the course is cancelled for other reasons. ‘Cancelsure' insurance forms are available from Cancelsure http://www.cancelsure-insurance.co.uk/
or call 0345 071 3929
If You Have to Cancel...
All deposits are non-refundable unless we hear about your cancellation at least three months ahead of the course. If you cancel within four weeks of the course start date, the full course fee is due and non-returnable.
If We Have to Cancel
Hawkwood reserves the right to cancel a course, but if this happens we will give you as much notice as possible. In the event of a cancelled course, full fees including deposits will be refunded. Hawkwood can accept no further liability for course cancellations beyond the course fee refund.
Arrival and Departure Times
Unless otherwise stated, arrival time is between 4:00 and 6:00 pm on the first day of the course, with supper at 6:30 pm. For one day courses, arrival is generally 9-9:30 am, finish 5-5:30 pm. Longer courses usually finish by afternoon tea (4:00 pm) on the last day. Unusual start and finish times will be noted in the brochure and on the website.
Meals and Dietary Requirements
Hawkwood has a reputation for delicious meals as well as providing for other dietary requirements, such as food allergies (please let us know beforehand to ensure we are best able to meet your requests; it may not be possible to cater for them if we only know at the last minute!) Organically grown vegetables and meats are used where possible, and all food served is GMO free.
- No smoking is allowed within the buildings.
- The College does not assume responsibility for guests' property.
- On the day of departure, resident course members are politely requested to vacate their rooms by 9.30 am to allow room preparation for following courses, unless otherwise announced.
- Pets cannot be accommodated at the college (assistance dogs only by prior arrangment).
Bursaries and Concessions
Bursaries and concessions are available for many courses through The Eileen Nesfield-Cookson Memorial Bursary Fund. We are often able to offer concession rates and bursaries to those who wish to take part in Hawkwood courses, whether music, art or crafts, but find it difficult to do so without some financial assistance. Funds are limited, and we recommend that you contact us early. Applications, stating circumstances, should be made in writing to the principal. Contributions to the Fund are most welcome.
