The Dance of Trauma and Healing
Facilitator: Katherine Long
A day for change practitioners and leaders to explore the dynamics of trauma and healing in their life and work. A day deep in Nature for your personal embodied wellness, and the wellness of your work.
Event time: Thu 27th Aug 2020 at 9:30am - Thu 27th Aug 2020 at 4:30pm
At a glance
A one-day retreat in Nature in the grounds of Hawkwood to:
- Equip yourself to address patterns of trauma in life and work
- Explore healing as a key pattern within Nature and Life
- Develop skills for working with self and others
- Explore your world work, your hearts-mission, your healing
What participants will gain
- Discernment of patterns of trauma and healing in life and work
- Embodiment practices to attune to the movement of our lives
- Experiential practice in connection with Nature, as a teacher and omnipresent guide
- Capacity to shift beyond patterning that feels ‘stuck’
In the current world context we see old patterns of trauma resurfacing amidst newer disruptions, which impact at macro global levels all the way through to the individual and at a cellular level. Based on emerging knowledge about the fractal nature of trauma, as well as Nature’s capacity for self-healing at all levels of system, we will explore the dance of trauma and healing for ourselves, our local contexts and the wider systems which we are a part of.
The day will be in part a retreat, in part a place to carry out some of the real work of healing which needs to happen right now. Starting with our own contexts and moving out towards wider systems, we will explore how healing operates fractally, through different levels of the system, is relational and process-oriented, supports new levels of coherence within the system, and involves multiple modalities and pathways on the journey towards healing.
We will be outdoors all day, making use of the gardens and the Outdoor Classroom at Hawkwood. So please be prepared for different weather conditions, bringing waterproof clothing and appropriate footwear.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions places are very limited to just 15 participants.

“Katherine brought a wealth of experience and challenge to our team day – empowering our team to engage with fresh outlooks and techniques in their work. Katherine holds the ‘space’ in such a way that allows for reflection, learning, challenge and confidence to explore. Thank you.”
“Katherine demonstrates a rare skill. She has the ability to create an open and curious space in which people feel safe to talk, but also challenged to think more deeply and broadly about issues. She is able to finely weave together the theoretical concepts with application in real life. Collaborative, creative, and robust would all be true words to describe her delivery style.”
