Anthropocene Motherhood

What is it to bring a child into this country, culture, world at this time? We look forward now to 2110.

What world do I give you, what do I give to the world? What could it be instead?

This new body of work from folk-soul improvisational artist Briony Greenhill has emerged from the journey into motherhood. Songs of love, conceiving, birth, land reform; how can we re-shape this design to put nature at the centre?

Briony says - ‘forget the ‘Anthropocene’ - it masks too much. It’s time for a new era of Symbiocene. Let’s mother that into being!

A collaborative perfromance

Briony on piano and vocals will be joined by Asha McCarthy improvising on cello.  Asha will play a half hour set in the middle of the concert. Her new work is all about the Atlantic ocean.
