This enjoyable, intense weekend study course is suitable for experienced players and advanced students with a minimum skill level of Grade 6 guitar. There will be ensemble work as well as masterclass tutorials.

Hawkwood is a stunning Grade II listed 19th Century country house, surrounded by 42 acres of sustainably managed woodland, farmland, and gardens. Our programme of courses is led by experienced tutors and leaders in their fields.
Both residential and non-residential rates are available. Residential options are fully inclusive with all meals provided. Non-residential options include suppers, lunches and all refreshments and exclude B&B.

Please bring your guitar and music stand. Participants should be of Grade 6 standard or higher.
Arrivals from 4 pm with afternoon tea, your first group activity will be dinner as a group at 6:30 pm, followed by a concert from Craig at 8pm. The course finishes with afternoon tea at 4 pm on Sunday.
Described by BBC Music Magazine as "A worthy successor to Julian Bream", Australian born guitarist Craig Ogden is one of the most exciting artists of his generation.
Craig has performed concertos with many of the world’s leading orchestras, including several world premieres of concertos written for him. He regularly appears as soloist and chamber musician at major venues and collaborates with the UK’s top artists and ensembles.
One of the UK’s most recorded guitarists, he has accumulated an acclaimed discography for Chandos, Virgin/EMI, Nimbus, Hyperion, Sony and five chart-topping albums for Classic FM. His most recent recordings are a solo recital disc for Chandos, Craig Ogden in Concert and a new arrangement of the Goldberg Variations by J.S. Bach with violinist David Juritz and cellist Tim Hugh for Nimbus. He frequently records for film and has presented programmes for BBC Radio 3, BBC Northern Ireland, and ABC Classic FM in Australia.
Craig Ogden is Director of Guitar at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, Adjunct Fellow of the University of Western Australia, Associate Artist at The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, and Director of the Dean & Chadlington Summer Music Festival. Craig Ogden plays a 2011 Greg Smallman guitar and strings made by D’Addario.
