Facilitation Training

The art of facilitation helps groups to move towards their purpose by means of group members’ own uniqueness and existing skills and knowledge. Good facilitation is the kindling of creativity, a deep listening to what is felt and needed and an inclusion of all voices for a stronger, richer whole. This course will help you to grow your effectiveness in working and collaborating with other people in a variety of different contexts.

You will leave this facilitation training course with embodied experiences, tools, techniques, knowledge, skills, a supportive network of peers and increased capacities and confidence to create and embody the change you would like to see in the world. You will also take steps towards a clearer idea of what is important to you, how you wish to show up in the world and what is yours to do. You will have explored your edges and brought yourself more fully to what calls you in life. With an emphasis on practice, you will be gaining experience of facilitation right from the start and be supported by a community of fellow learners and doers. Rekindling your own connection with nature and community will also deepen your sense of purpose and resource you to feel more alive in these challenging times.

The course will explore a number of themes that will be introduced throughout our time together. These are:

  • The nature of power dynamics.
  • Your response and relationship with conflict.
  • Using facilitation models in practice.
  • Compassionate Communication (influenced by Nonviolent Communication, Deep Listening and other practices).
  • Linking the personal to the systemic.
  • Building resilience for yourself and others.
  • Nature connection practices.
  • Transforming inclusion through decolonising ourselves and our spaces.

This is the impact of Change in Nature’s Facilitation courses in 2019 and 2020…
