Each day, we will explore one of the four key aspects of technique – sonority, finger dexterity, articulation, and interval flexibility – in our daily warm-ups. This group class will be followed by an ensemble session where (in socially distanced manner, appropriate to flute playing) we will rehearse two flute choir pieces with an emphasis on intonation and listening skills. John Alley will offer individual accompaniment coaching to every participant on a solo piece. This is followed by an opportunity to this play solo and receive detailed feedback from Elisabeth. The course will conclude with a concert where we will all perform for each and celebrate being able to make music together again.
Some prior preparation is possible during our September online course, but this is not a prerequisite for attending. All appropriate social distancing measures specific to flute playing will be in place according to current guidelines.
