Facilitator: Don Conreaux & Aidan McIntyre
Gong Master Training is an immersion in the art and science of resonant sound as devised by world renowned Grand Gong Master and innovator Don Conreaux and Gong Master Aidan McIntyre.
You will be guided on a road to Mastery in the use of Sacred Sound as a transformational tool and in the service to Humanity. Each day we will be working with different sacred instruments; to learn how to use them in performance and healing for others as well as ourselves.
Event time: Fri 26th Jul 2024 at 4:00pm - Sun 4th Aug 2024 at 2:00pm
The ten-day Gong Master Training is a comprehensive deep dive into the Art and Science of Sacred Sound. Through both hands on experiential learning and engaging theoretical sessions, beginning students and those that have already taken their first steps into this world, will gain the knowledge and experience to develop their own sound healing practice.
New students receive a wealth of teaching, and for returning ones, the process of understanding deepens – incorporating new dynamic levels of embodied practice. Like reading a good book, the first time it’s read, the story becomes familiar, the second time, the offering meets the reader differently, whereby the repetition enables the story to evolve. With this training, what is revealed to the student is similar to the Gong itself – always entirely new.
There is also a growing trend of combining the gong with other healing modalities. Students who have already studied other modalities such as Yoga, Psychotherapy, Reiki etc often attend to gain the skills necessary to enrich their practice.
All regions will be explored, however this is an organic training and the emphasis will be guided by the needs of the students.
Students will have the opportunity to play and experiment with master quality instruments (both modern and collectable antiques): gongs and singing bowls. They will also receive instruction on the shruti box, chanting, toning, singing and conch playing. All material and equipment will be made available to students so there is no need to own or bring anything in order to participate on this course. However students are welcome to bring their own Gong or other instruments, if they would like.
Participants will be guided in the use of the gong as a transformational tool weather used for personal practice, 1-1 therapy, Group Gong Baths, performance, or the all-night Gong Puja. Students will get the opportunity to experience the gong and other instruments in all of these contexts.
The Faculty will be joined by guest teachers who will share their expertise and practice in particular areas.
Included in the course investment cost is a set of Don’s books ( Gongs of Our Solar System / Music of Wholeness / Magnum Opus Vol 1 & 2 ) – the result of a lifetime’s study into esoteric and sacred sound. You will also be given his unique Chiometer – his synthesis of differing esoteric and sacred divination systems unified into a comprehensive consultation tool plus an informative GMT Student Manual.
Gong playing techniques including the 39 different strokes and their appropriate use in various settings combined with the use of all types of mallets
Teachings on Gong Philosophy, its lineage and the theory of gong consciousness and its implications for humanity in this age
Practice with other instruments, both ancient and modern, whether man-made or sourced from Nature. These include Singing bowls, shruti box and conch shells amongst others
The culture created during these trainings is held by the equaliser of the gong itself. Friendships are made and reunited. New people are welcomed into the global gong community. It is a lively and stimulating process, whereby the community itself is united through the gong.

Aidan Mcintyre met the gong in 1993 and it was a transformational experience, to say the least. From that moment on he has dedicated his life to sharing his experience and research with the World at large. The Singing Bowls came into his life at that same time and they became an integral addition to his work with the Gong.
Aidan is a generous teacher sharing his acquired wisdom. He also likes sharing his large collection of Gongs, Antique Singing Bowls and Conch shells, sharing their origins and uses in Sound Therapy. Don Conreaux and Aidan together created the Gong Master Training Course which came to fruition in the UK and is now in its twenty-second year in 2018. They have taken this training around the world to Europe, Asia and both North and South America and Australia. The UK GMT is a rare opportunity to receive the training from both Don and Aidan teaching together. When not on the road teaching, Aidan has a practice teaching individual students personally or via Skype and offers one-to-one gong therapy from his home in Gloucestershire.
Aidan is also the creator of the ‘Rotogong’ which is an attachment to the gong stand which enables one to rotate any gong 360 degrees whilst playing. ‘’I believe that this creation will change the way the Gong is presented by the gong playing community and that it completely revolutionises the whole Gong bath experience both sonically and emotionally’’
