In this experiential course you will connect to the elements through theory, embodiment exercises and projects in Nature. These activities will be your integral guide for health and your journey of personal development.

Connect profoundly with the elements of Nature to experience her message to you and your response to her. The elements Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Wood, interact harmoniously to shape the world around you and within you.

Like the earth, establish a strong, nourishing foundation. What is your sense of belonging? The Earth element is about self-care and empathy, in Nature it is harvest time, time of abundance and sharing.


Air: Clarity and Perspective

Air connects us to everything around us, offering a wider perspective. The Air element is about self-worth and creating a life that resonates with your values. Related to Autumn and letting go and honouring the cycle of life.


Water: Flow and Clarity

Water’s adaptability and power is life force. From our sweat, blood and tears to the rivers and oceans, it is life’s shape-shifter. Building connection to water is the first step in reconnecting to deeper mystery. This element focuses on building self-confidence to tackle life’s challenges. Related to Winter, a time of storing and caring for energy reserves.


Wood: Vision and Goals

As a tree grows up towards the light at the same time it creates a stable and wide network of roots. Harness the power of trees to build self-esteem and give roots to your vision. The Wood element is about your unique plan aligned with your personality, goals, and aspirations. Related to the Spring time when new life bursts forth to unfold potential.


Fire: Ignite Your Passion

Fire represents the warmth and openness of summer. A sense of freedom and joy encouraging heart to heart communication. Fire is about self-concept, nourishing relationship to self and others. The ability to give and receive love. The Fire element focuses on inspiration and communication to discover what truly sets your soul on fire.


Hawkwood is a stunning Grade II listed 19th Century country house, surrounded by 42 acres of sustainably managed woodland, farmland, and gardens. Set in the heart of the Cotswolds – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – it is a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. With a diverse selection of nearly 150 courses, there’s plenty to choose from, including courses in transformative leadership, future thinking, inner life, music and the arts. Our programme of courses is led by experienced tutors and leaders in their fields.

What Is Included

Both residential and non-residential rates are available. Residential options are fully inclusive with all meals provided. Non-residential options include suppers, lunches and all refreshments and exclude B&B.

Lorraine Spring

Originally trained as a nurse, Lorraine has over 30-year experience helping people with health and life issues using 5 element acupuncture and systems coaching. She has studied Theory U and Gross National Happiness principles at Schumacher College, UK and in Bhutan, and completed a Masters course in Social Presencing Theater with Arawana Hayashi.

Lorraine is a certified Natural Mindfulness Guide, teaches yoga, has two grown up children and speaks three languages. She has a passion for writing Haiku, dancing tango and learning the saxophone.
