Flute and Piano

Facilitator: Elisabeth Hobbs & John Alley

Join Elisabeth Parry and John Alley for a livestream concert of music for flute and piano. Exploring the relationship between voice and flute, the duo will perform their own arrangements of songs and arias by Bach, Fauré, Strauss and Berg. John and Elisabeth will also talk about their work together in publishing and performing, and about the fruits of their recent Artist Residency at Hawkwood.

Elisabeth Parry

Elisabeth Parry is a performer and teacher who specialises in working with adult students, helping them learn and develop as players through lessons, group classes, and publications. Her courses are renowned for their friendly atmosphere, individualised approach and serious focus on technique, with a musical emphasis on ensemble playing. Elisabeth is a Powell Artist and gives courses, workshops and concerts around the world. 

Elisabeth Parry and John Alley perform together frequently as a duo and collaborate in creating acclaimed flute publications for Aurea Capra Editions.

John Alley

John Alley was Principal Keyboard Player of the London Symphony Orchestra for 25 years, as well as performing and recording with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, English Chamber Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and many others. He has performed in hundreds of BBC Proms and played on dozens of major film soundtracks – not least Harry Potter and Star Wars.
