Qi Gong Membership

Qi Gong is renowned worldwide as a method to promote good health, strengthen immunity and enhance longevity. These relaxing exercises are easy to learn and take a lifetime to master. Often described as moving meditation Qi Gong is a gentle and flowing workout for mind, body and soul.

Chris Taylor’s classes bring all of this and more. A practitioner for over twenty years, Chris will teach you powerful movement routines while also sharing the philosophical and spiritual underpinnings of the practice. This will help you to connect deeply with the life-force energy that is present in all things, to consider the deeper purpose in your life and to notice patterns in the way you respond to events.

By joining this Qi Gong membership programme you will have the opportunity to:

  • Attend 16 live online sessions, delivered every 2 weeks
  • Learn four complimentary Qi Gong practices:
    • A full body relaxation and warm-up routine
    • Six Sounds Qi Gong for Health
    • Qi Gong for Life Purpose
    • Eight Positions Static Qi Gong for Energy Strengthening.

This programme has been specially designed for beginners, people who have some experience of Qi Gong and for past participants of Chris’ Tai Chi courses at Hawkwood. The emphasis is on learning the exercises, progressively refining and enhancing practice and then embedding Qi Gong into your daily routine. We will progress from learning the moves, to deepening our practice through repetition and refinement.

Practical Information

Please wear loose-fitting clothing and soft shoes (trainers or similar). No prior experience is necessary. Please let us know of any injuries or serious health issues you have.

Tai Chi Day Retreat

Chris Taylor

Chris Taylor has been a Tai Chi and Qi Gong practitioner for over twenty years. He is trained in Yang Style Tai Chi, Shibashi Qi Gong and as a teacher of the Foundation Form at the Master Ding Academy.

Chris pays particular attention to embodying the principles and practices of Tai Chi in his everyday life. This means eating healthily, daily Tai Chi and meditation practices and living from a sense of being intricately connected to all things. Chris is an organic farmer, seeing activities like orchard care and composting as part of his meditative practice.

Chris lives with his wife on a 42 acre organic communal farm in the English countryside where he is learning horticulture, earth care, orchard care and composting. Seeing these activities also as meditative practices, he is dedicated to regeneration of the Earth and all life. Chris is author of The Tao of Revolution.
