A Songwriting Workshop for Twelve Women
Facilitator: Helen Chadwick
This will be Helen’s fourth songwriting workshop at Hawkwood on creating harmony songs for unaccompanied voices, small groups and choirs. We will create alone and collaborate with others to share what we make with the group, noticing and collating an array of forms and structures as we go. Starting with quick-fire writing and composing activities we will move towards creating whole songs.
Event time: Fri 15th Jul 2022 at 4:00pm - Sun 17th Jul 2022 at 4:00pm
- A retreat-like experience
- Learn improvisation and fun techniques to make new work
- Group and solo activities
What You Will Gain
- Time to create some solo and harmony songs, and the chance to sing each other’s songs
- Access to a new and ongoing songwriting support group
- Time to focus on your own creativity without distraction
- Inspiration from others
The atmosphere in Helen’s workshops is supportive, focused and fun. A willingness to play and just go for it without stumbling over too much self criticism is a key element of this course(because editing comes later, after creation)! The group can become an ongoing songwriting circle for those who wish.
