Starting on Friday evening with relaxing and calming yoga to help you recover from your journey and whatever you have left behind, followed by a nourishing dinner.
You have the option to start each day with an early morning meditation in the woodland sanctuary before breakfast. After breakfast we will explore gentle yoga stretches to open up the body and allow for a full and spacious breath, and after the morning break we will rejoin to experience nature-based meditation and journalling.
After lunch on Saturday, you can enjoy the gift of free time to walk in the beautiful woodlands, read or simply catch up on sleep. In the late afternoon restorative yoga and yoga Nidra practice designed to take the body and brain out of high stress, and into a state of complete relaxation before heading to another delicious home-cooked meal. This is a type of yoga that uses yoga equipment to remove the need for muscular effort, and we focus on releasing tension in areas such as the hamstrings, lower back, psoas muscle and diaphragm. The ability to breathe freely and fully is essential to maintaining a healthy and balanced sense of wellbeing and can help us cope with what life has to throw at us.
A new addition is a nourishing gong bath on Saturday evening.
Sunday will take a similar format, with a session devoted to taking the elements of the retreat with you into autumn, and then it will be time to depart, hopefully feeling more rested and rejuvenated as we head into a new season.
This retreat is suitable for all, including brand new to yoga.
Please bring a blanket and a small pillow for a cushion for your head. You may also like to bring a yoga mat if you have one (mats will be provided, but in this type of yoga it can be more comfortable to have two). Wear warm, comfy clothes that you can move freely in, including warm socks. You may also like to bring walking boots and extra layers for the early morning walk.
