The Day

Spend a day fully immersed in the moment of creating. Find a method of painting that allows you to quiet the mind and access the relaxing and calming benefits painting can achieve.

You will create art intuitively, responding to the materials, colours and surfaces you are painting on. However, you will be guided towards a theme or topic to help you focus on the meditative qualities of painting. Depending on the weather part of the session will explore the outdoors.

Sometimes you will create more representational paintings and at other times abstract and expressive work. This will all be achieved through guided exercises and support from your tutor, Christina.

No art therapy will be involved, and no judgement will be placed on the outcome of your work. This day is centred on finding a method of painting that brings you enjoyment and relaxation. There will be laughter as well as moments of calm and reflection. An enjoyable day creating whilst giving you the chance to relax.

Suitable for all abilities, even those who have not picked up a paintbrush before.

Christina Sadler

Christina is an artist based in Gloucestershire. She has a first class degree in Fine Art and is represented by Wychwood Art Gallery.

Her art is inspired by nature. She allows paint to flow and drip, then repairs and rebuilds areas by removing and altering layers. This makes her feel restful and calm, which reflects into her art.

A full time artist she also works with the NHS and partners on projects that improve mental health including developing art to improve interior environments and outreach sessions with adults and young people.
