Aga Khan Music Award winner, Soumik Datta will perform an evening of contemporary Indian music to address refugee issues. Together with SDA associate artists, Gurdain Singh on tabla and Peetha Narayanan on violin, the concert will be followed by the launch of the Green Room – SDA’s new residency programme to deliver professional development opportunities for global south refugee and migrant musicians. This is a chance to find out who the Green Room Artists are and take part in an informal Q&A.
The event will be followed by a networking opportunity for local artists and organisations working in this space.

What is The Green Room?
Over three residential weeks at Hawkwood Centre for Future Thinking, seven Green Room artists will undergo a series of workshops, rehearsals and recording to co-create authentic and collective work in a safe, welcoming and nurturing space. Read more about it in the call out here.

Doors from 6:30pm, concert starts at 7pm. This event will finish at 8pm.
This event will be seated and the bar will be open from 6:30pm.
This is a free event, however we ask that you book in advance so we can manage venue capacity. If you can longer make the event then please let us know so we can welcome people on the door.
